Purple person wanted!

We're looking for a new addition to the Purple Palace in London... Sally Brand explains why we're currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager

After nearly a year with learnpurple (it's gone so quickly!) I am delighted to be taking on a new role, and challenge, at the Purple Palace in London. From April I will become "Sales and Marketing Manager" for learnpurple and talent toolbox. Hence the new opportunity for a "Business Development Manager...

Since starting at learnpurple I have always been really passionate about the clients that we work with and the effective and engaging solutions that we deliver that keep so many of our clients coming back for more, month after month, and year after year. I find it very rewarding - and fun - to be involved with organisations who are dedicated to developing, engaging and retaining their talented people, as well improving the service and experience that they offer to their clients.

Going forwards, in my new role, I am very much looking forward to continuing to develop these relationships and to become an "expert" in my field so I can provide as much knowledge, expertise and added value to our clients as possible. I am also very excited about meeting and working with new clients so we can help them to achieve their outcomes and add a little bit of "purple magic" to their operations (doesn't everybody need some?!). If you know of anybody who would benefit from a bit of "purple magic" then please do give me a shout as it would be great to have a chat with them and find about a bit more about their needs.

On top of this I'm really looking forward to welcoming a new team member on board as our "Business Development Manager" who will take responsibility for our public courses (Learning Bites and the Purple Leadership Programme).

learnpurple CEO, Jane Sunley's ethos is all about transforming and maximising people potential. Indeed, this is something which has always been hugely apparent to me from day one. I have been encouraged, and given the support, to be actively involved in the business and develop my skills and passions. For instance, I really enjoy writing and so it has been fantastic to be given the chance to hone this skill (for example, I have been involved with the company blog and writing marketing materials for our products and services). I have also been given lots of opportunities to really get involved with learnpurple's clients, which has been brilliant.

Indeed, there are a lot of benefits that come with working at learnpurple... did I mention you get a complimentary massage once a month too? In my opinion, anybody that joins us will be really lucky and will have a great opportunity to develop, as I have done.

It's really important to us to recruit the right person for this role. We're looking for a flexible, positive, enthusiastic individual who is going to offer our clients great, "value added" service and will help us to develop our company and brand. The person needs to be charismatic and have that purple charm in order to fit in with our culture and the very important learnpurple values.

Here is some further information about the role and what we we're looking for...

Responsibilities will include:

- Develop, maintain and delight new and existing clients

- Follow up sales contacts - existing clients, enquiries, generate new leads

- Research new / existing markets

- Market, promote and help with the organisation of events

- Proactively attend networking events and be flexible about being available for evening and breakfast events

We are looking for a polished, confident and service focused person as client interaction (via telephone, email and face to face) is an important part of the role. We are looking for a proactive and honest team player with sales experience who loves working with people and works well in a goal focused and busy environment.

If this sounds like you, or you know anybody who fits the bill, then please do get in touch via email with ten bullet points highlighting why you're the one, plus a one-page CV, including expected salary details. Please email Emily Moore at: emily@learnpurple.com
